Common Questions

Everything about PageWard & Screen Time.

How app blocking, smart photo verification, privacy, and reading streaks work on iPhone and iPad.

01How does PageWard block apps and websites on iPhone?

PageWard uses Apple’s official Screen Time framework (FamilyControls and ManagedSettings). You choose which apps, categories, or websites to protect, and iOS places a system-level shield over them until you earn minutes by reading.

02Can PageWard see which apps I block or my personal usage?

No. Apple’s Screen Time picker gives PageWard opaque system tokens rather than app names or bundle IDs. Your app selection stays private on your device.

03How does Smart Proof verify that I actually read my book?

When you start or log a session, you snap a quick photo of your book cover and the page number you reached. PageWard’s smart verification checks the cover and page progression to calculate how many pages you read and awards your screen time.

04How many pages do I need to read to unlock my apps?

You are in control of your reading routine. For example, reading 8 pages at a 3-minute-per-page rate unlocks 24 minutes of screen time. Even 10 to 15 pages a day is enough to finish 12+ books a year.

05Does PageWard work on both iPhone and iPad?

Yes. PageWard is available on the App Store for both iPhone and iPad (requires iOS / iPadOS 18.6 or later) and includes Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets.
